Hello Tom and all,
I have some rough movement when doing short paths. It kind of reminds me when doing a drip feed from a PC to an old CNC control and having feedrate to fast.
This rough movement also happens at 5 IPM.
The gcode was made in Bobcad. Iam running in open loop for testing this. Is this just because of the Gcode?
Here is Gcode...

Here is a video of it.....

Thanks,

Hi Troy,

I assume you have tried all the Mach3 CV settings, look ahead 200, and so forth?  Maybe post your XML for us to see.

Regards
TK

Here is my xml...

Just started PC and machine for first time today and ran Gcode again and all is nice and smooth. Do i need to restart Mach in order for look ahead changes to take effect?

And i recently installed a new hard drive and simply flashed image from old hard drive to new one. You think i should do a fresh install?

Thanks again,
Troy

Hi Troy,

Strange.  Maybe set the lookahead back to 50 and see if the issue repeats.

I would expect a "cloned" Hard drive to work ok.

I was thinking it was an issue with the GCode.  I examined it some and it is classic "3D" path code with fairly long segments of around 0.02 inches that appears fairly smooth but really consists of some 5~10 degree angles.

I tried going back to 50 and made no difference. This problem seemed familiar, then i remembered a same issue at a shop i worked.

Previous to this operation was a drill cycle and for what ever reason Mach3 will switch off CV at beginning of drill cycle then turn it back on. I think this time it did not turn it back on, even thow iam sure i checked it in general config. But anyhow this same exact thing happened on a mill at a shop i worked at. And was a known bug, which was fixed many versions ago.

Thanks again Tom,
Troy
